Kunstverk for Bergen Rådhus
Representasjon (for folk og de som representerer dem) er et kunstverk laget for Bergen rådhus. Verket består av vevde tekstiler der motivet er datagenererte bilder basert på portretter av innbyggere i Bergen. Gjennom bildeinnsamlingskampanjen Gruppebilde Bergen samlet jeg portrettbilder fra innbyggere i Bergen høsten og vinteren 2020/2021. Kampanjen var en åpen invitasjon til byens befolkning om å bidra med et portrett av seg selv. De innsamlede bildene ble brukt som grunnlag i maskinlæring for å generere nye portretter til kunstverket. Verket ble ferdigstilt sommeren 2022.

Munch Triennale – The Machine is Us

The first edition of the Munch Triennale, titled The Machine is Us, displays works by artists who examine the social impacts of new technologies, and sketch imaginative future scenarios for a society in the midst of digital transformation.
My contribution to the exhibition is a new version of my ongoing series Imaginary Networks (2015-2026).
Liquid Structures
Group exhibition and screening programme
16-18 September, Batumi, Georgia
Liquid Structures is a three-day festival programme of video screenings, sound performances and talks in the public space, organised within the scope of Batumi Urban Agenda: the research project founded in direct response to the urban and social crisis in the city. At the Batumi Pier, more than 15 Georgian and international artists present works that resonate with this context while also contributing new perspectives rooted in different localities. At a time when the seascape has become the city’s most desirable resource and territory for expansionist dreams, Liquid Structures proposes to literally turn the gaze towards the sea, to try to remember and reimagine its meanings and relations with the city and its inhabitants.

Reclaiming Vision (2018, w/Marjolijn Dijkman, commissioned by Munchmuseet on the Move), a film featuring microorganisms in the inner Oslo Fjord and Oslo’s newly developed waterfront area Bjørvika, will be a part of the screening programme.
Emotions are Oceans

Emotions are Oceans is the opening exhibition of RADIUS as a center for contemporary art and ecology, and presents the work of nineteen artists around the subject of global water crises.

Marjolijn Dijkman and I are showing our installation Liquid Properties, a sculptural installation consisting of hand blown glass objects in a variety of shapes held by a meandering metal framework. The glass spheres are containers for samples of water taken from various sources, on this occasion from the river Schie in Delft and Delftshaven. Each of the spheres have one or more lenses integrated in the glass body, slightly magnifying the organisms, particles and pollutants inside.
